During his first ERC-funded PostDoc (Project &#8216;Polaris&#8217;) at ETH Z\u00fcrich he refined the technique of optical in-situ monitoring of polarization emergence during thin-film growth &#8212; now the basis of the <em>3Wave ISHG<\/em>. He started his career as group leader at the research institute Fraunhofer ILT from where he transitioned to the laser machine building company Rofin-LASAG as Head of research and development.<\/p><p>Moving from industrial to consumer market, he joined Heptagon in 2012 to lead the optical sensor development for tier 1 customers in the mobile phone business.
