Prof. Dr. Manfred Fiebig
Founder, Director Non-Linear Laser Spectroscopy
Manfred Fiebig is renowned for pioneering nonlinear-optical methods in ferroic and multiferroic materials, with a research focus on light–matter interaction in systems with strong electronic correlations. Developed at ETH Zurich in Switzerland, this work builds on more than two decades of experience with nonlinear optics for materials science. Together with 3Wave Instruments, the team is bringing this development to the market through a real-time monitoring system that combines cutting-edge hardware with smart software.
Prof. Dr. Morgan Trassin
Founder, Director Thin Film Application
Morgan Trassin is recognized for his expertise in oxide epitaxy, interface engineering, and complex-oxide heterostructure design. He leads research on oxide interfaces and epitaxial ferroelectric/multiferroic thin films at ETH Zurich, including the NEAT lab focused on nonlinear optics during epitaxial growth. Developed at ETH Zurich and grounded in decades of nonlinear-optics know-how, the team’s methods enable in-situ control of functional thin films. In collaboration with 3Wave Instruments, this development is being brought to the market as a real-time monitoring tool that unites cutting-edge hardware with smart software
Dr. Jannis Lehmann
Founder, Director Technology
Jannis Lehmann works as a laser technician at FastLab in the Department of Physics at ETH Zürich, where he maintains, upgrades and newly develops experiments around high-power ultrafast laser systems.
He has a background in laser technology and the contactless investigation of exotic types of electric and magnetic order in materials. During his first ERC-funded PostDoc (Project ‘Polaris’) at ETH Zürich he refined the technique of optical in-situ monitoring of polarization emergence during thin-film growth — now the basis of the 3Wave ISHG. At 3Wave Instruments, he merges cutting-edge hardware with sophisticated software solutions that facilitate non-specialists to perform and evaluate advanced SHG experiments for an unmatched process control.
Jens Geiger
Founder, Project Management
Jens Geiger filled several management positions in SMEs and large companies. He started his career as group leader at the research institute Fraunhofer ILT from where he transitioned to the laser machine building company Rofin-LASAG as Head of research and development.
Moving from industrial to consumer market, he joined Heptagon in 2012 to lead the optical sensor development for tier 1 customers in the mobile phone business. Through acquisitions, he then came to ams OSRAM, first in the role of deputy business line manager and later transitioned to work on disruptive technologies in the Innovation Office.
Markus Dantler
Founder, Marketing and Sales
Markus Dantler built his career at Ascom and Siemens in product management at the interface of engineering and customers, supporting global product launches worldwide. He later moved into startups, bringing products from concept to market. In 2017, he joined Heptagon and, through acquisitions, moved to ams OSRAM as Senior Staff Engineer (System Design), delivering system-level solutions with Tier-1 mobile customers.
